Harding Falls Hike

It was decided do the Harding Falls Trail Hike in the Cleveland National Forest the night before going on it. It was a new one and seemed like a fun hike, something different. It has a hard rating on All Trails and it DOES live up to it! Make sure to arrive early as the parking lot is VERY limited and a lot of mountain bikers could be seen on the main trails too. Although it is only a 6.4 mile round trip hike, it seemed like the recent rains caused a lot of trees to fall over and rock slides to come down, making the trail that much harder to do. After the initial easier part fo the trail on the road, you follow the stream up. Because of the fallen trees and covered trail, there was a lot of guesswork and trail making to keep going up. I was not expecting it to take much time, but after three hours of hiking and getting passed the All trails GPS trail, we did not see the alleged 60 foot waterfall and decided to turn around exhausted and tired. Next time I will make sure to take snacks and be better prepared to get to the waterfall.

But nonetheless it was totally worth it to go on this hike as the scenery was amazing and serene. The multiple waterfalls and different plants and foliage were worth smelling and looking at the whole way. I will be doing this hike again and reaching that mythical waterfall soon.
