Big Horn Mine Hike

In 2020 I discovered Big Horn Mine. I had seen so many pictures of it on social media but had no idea where it was. Finally I looked it up and found where it was. Funny enough it is actually next to a previous hike I had done, Mt. Baden Powell. It is an easy hike with about a total of 600 feet of elevation gain throughout the 4 mile in and out hike. 2 miles to get there and 2 miles back out.

I first went alone, then I went with my brother for his birthday. We were able to go inside the old abandoned mine. By chance I had a flashlight in my backpack and it was an amazing adventure inside. We took some cool shots and went back out. Perhaps next time I will go further inside.

To find this hike just look for the Vincent Gulch Divide in google or look for Big Horn Mine Trail in the All Trails App. (Note clicking the trial link will take you to the all trails hike trail page. All Trails App Store link will take you to the iPhone App Store.) There is large parking lot where you can park. Note you will need an Adventure Pass for the Los Angeles Forest to avoid getting a ticket. Click the Adventure Pass link to find a location where you can buy it.
